Currently, when you add a configurable product to the wishlist, it isn't possible to specify size and colour options from the underlying simple products. This is very important on an apparel site - no point sending a wishlist to a friend if they don't which size or colour you want.

Magento is crazily resource intensive. Large numbers of queries are executed that don't use indexes, and commands aren't concatenated that could be (which stops database servers from taking advantage of internal optimizations.) A large push on optimizing code would be very much appreciated and increasingly needed.

The current method of assigning products to a category in Manage Categories could use some work. Its great to be able to assign products in bulk like this, but you can only search for products by certain attributes. Most notably missing are Attribute Set, and Current Categories. What if you want to move half of the products in one category to a new category? There is no simple way to do this since you can't search by category. What would be really great would be the ability to drag and drop products from one category to another the same way you can reorganize categories by drag and drop.

Site search is an incredible problem. It seems that magento only performs well with unique products, but does not perform well with products that follow a certain similar naming conventions. Adding and removing search on columns would help, such as giving emphasis on keyword column, or short description, and removing emphasis from the name, or long description.

at the moment the tier pricing information stays the same while configuring a conifigurable product. magento calculates the correct tier prices when you finally put the configured product into the shopping basket but i think the tier pricing information has to change already while configuring the configurable product. EXAMPLE: lets say there is a configurable product “T-SHIRT” in color RED and BLUE. the red t-shirt costs $ 10 - the blue t-shirt costs $ 20. if you buy 10 red t-shirts the price is $ 9 per t-shirt. if you buy 20 red t-shirts the price is $ 8 per t-shirt. if you buy 10 blue t-shirts the price is $ 19 per t-shirt. if you buy 20 blue t-shirts the price is $ 18 per t-shirt. if someone decides to buy blue t-shirts i guess he expects that the tier prices for the blue t-shirt is shown in the shop - and not the ones for the red t-shirt.

Some of our clients keep stocks in multiple offline stores. Would be nice to have some support for this in Magento, mainly for when customers can make reservations to pick-up the products at a certain store. I would agree when this is seen as an enterprise function :)

Hi, Magento have some paradox. This is one (certainly THE) best Ecommerce plateform to make multiple website, multiple shop, multiple all you want with one instance of magento. However, there is a critical missing feature for people that need to set up multiple site/store with one magento instance: The possibility to change the scope of product attribute. At the moment prices in currencies that are different to the base currency are displayed as a direct conversion of the base price using the downloaded exchange rates. Some stores don't really work in that way as they need to be able to place themselves correctly in a foreign currency market depending on the country. I.e. for customers in Chile the price should be less than the price for customers in the UK, where standard of living is higher. This of course will need to have proper controls on the checkout to only allow purchases for customers in certain countries with certain currencies.

Actually there is two stock possibility : "in stock" or "out of stock"... It really miss to be able to add a date of new availability or some customs value like "in stock at the supplier", "usually ships in 1 week"... Almost all shop on internet have this option, but not in Magento...
