Transactional Emails Templates
Transactional Emails Templates functionality has to be redesigned to be database driven and fully multisite, multistore and multilanguage friendly
Magento should have in built feature to take address , emails address and site name from one interface . currently we should have to change it manually in every email template.

Our customers when using extensions have some requirement of changing the default templates. We always try to modify the email template even quite small point but it could make them more satisfied with our products. Usually, for any extension, the Transactional Emails Templates are very important and indispensable so the more innovate you could do, the more comfortably you serve your customers.
First off relying on an external mail server has advantages and disadvantages, you can read more here- using an external mail server vs. an internal mail server. With the following configuration, you’ll be able to send email and have it show up in the recipient’s inbox, rather than in the junk or spam mail.

Thank you for the extension, however it is currently in beta and doesn't have a tested Magento 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 compatibility.

I've released an extension that can modify the default e-mail templates using backend configuration options.
- Easily change email template layout for all default templates
- Make custom and system variables available in templates
- Determine which default templates are allowed to be sent
- Change the default templates outer container, header, middle container and footer through the backend (=DB)
- Configurable for all scopes (website, store, view)
- Template adapter and filter can be turned on or off in the configuration

I agree that the transactional email system needs some adjustment. While I do database email templates, and would prefer that to be the default, it would be good to keep the option of file based email templates.
Editing and assigning templates, setting email addresses, etc. should all be in a central location in the admin so it is easier to manage.
